Can I use the same password?
We would strongly recommend you create a new, strong password in the
interest of maintaining cyber security for yourself and Scouts SA.
Suggestions for strong passwords:
- Aim for passwords that are at least 12 to 16 characters long.
- Use alphanumeric characters that include: Mix upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Try using a short phrase made up of unrelated words, such as RedGrass4!Blue@
- Steer clear of obvious choices like names, birthdays, or simple patterns.
- Never use the same password for more than one account.
What to Avoid
- Passwords that include your username, email address, first name and last name.
- Simple sequences like 12345 or abcdef.
- Common substitutions such as P@ssw0rd.
- Sharing your password or keeping it in an unsecured file.
Helpful Tips
Change your password right away if you think it might have been compromised.
