Initial setup for Scout Groups

All Scout Groups in SA have been enabled for Operoo. The subscription costs for use are covered by Scouts SA for members.

As part of the setup and then ongoing registration of appropriate Leaders are added to the relevant section as Staff.

Youth Members are synced to Operoo during the inital setup.

If Staff are linked to a form, they will be able to see the profiles for the Members attending the Activity. It will also enable them to download profiles for those Activities that occur outside of normal mobile phone range using the smartphone app. They will also be able to create eforms.

Staff are those people who by the nature of their role have responsibility for the care of others and have a legitimate need to access the Operoo profiles of those in their care. For example, a Cub Scout Leader could be a Staff carer for their Cub unit. A person can be assigned as a Staff Member for a Group, Section or event (eForm).

For privacy purposes, Staff Carers should only have access to Operoo profiles when it is a legitimate requirement of their role and their access should be withdrawn during any other periods.

Once requested, the initial setup process involves
  1. ICT Team will share documents with the Group on the operation of Operoo.
  2. These documents and an introduction to the members should be shared by the Group to its members.
  3. Scout Group to confirm their member records are up to date in MyScout.
  4. Once confirmed, Scouts SA ICT will add all members to Operoo which prompts members to create and share a profile.
  5. Group can start using Operoo
